August has a positive balance in job creation

The month of August ended with a positive balance of 278,639 new formal jobs. Even more remarkable, the real average salary for admission was up for the third month in a row, due to the heating up of the labor market and the success of the government’s inflation control policies.

This positive result occurred in all sectors of the economy in all states, especially São Paulo, with 74,973 jobs in the month. The Northeast region had the highest relative growth in the workforce, up 0,96%. The services sector had the best performance with 141,113 jobs.

The positive balance of job creation reached 1,853,298 since January; and 2,455,662 in the last 12 months. From July 2020 to August 2022, the country recorded a balance of 5,836,476 jobs, reaching a historic record stock of 42,531,653 jobs.
